I’m Bob Larson. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue wants everyone in agriculture to know just how proud he is of what you do each and every day, even in the face of this unprecedented COVID-19 coronavirus.

On his latest podcast, called “The Sonnyside of the Farm,”

Perdue said when times get tough, agriculture shows how tough it is …

PERDUE … “Maybe for the first time in your careers you may be appreciated for what you do that people usually just take for granted.”

Even in this time of uncertainty, Perdue says it’s times like this that agriculture shines …

PERDUE … “I’m so proud of you all. I just want to thank you for showing up and showing out in a great American spirit and you’re really to be commended and, as an American citizen, I’m grateful, as Secretary of Agriculture, I’m particularly grateful to be part of your fraternity.”

And for those who worry about food supplies, Perdue says simply, DON’T …

PERDUE … “In the panic a couple of weeks ago and shelves started to become barren, people got very anxious, but we assured people that the food supply chain is safe, it’s strong. From those who grow our food, those who supply those who grow our food, to those who deliver, process and stock our food in that supply chain, I think our fellow Americans now know they can depend on you all. I really appreciate that.”

Perdue says not to worry, folks in ag will do whatever it takes to get the job done.

Listen tomorrow for more on the Ag Secretary’s burst of pride in the ag industry.
