I’m Bob Larson. In these uncertain times dealing with COVID-19 coronavirus, Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue is out to let everyone in the food supply chain know how important they are to surviving this pandemic.

On Friday, he spoke to America in a heartfelt USDA video to make sure everyone knows how much they’re appreciated …

PERDUE … “You know, we’re spoiled in America. You’ve provided such abundant, healthy, wholesome, affordable, available that we take for granted.”

Perdue says every single person in the supply chain is important …

PERDUE … “For all you people, from the people who are stocking those shelves, the people who are driving the trucks to get this food to us, the people who are processing the food, and the people who grow the food, and all the vendors that supplied our farmers to help them grow the food, whether it’s fertilizer or feed or seed or any other input, thank you so much for what you’re doing.”

Perdue says he appreciates the effort as things can change at any time …

PERDUE … “And I know these are uncertain times, but I just want to tell you from my heart as an American citizen, I am so grateful for what you’re doing and I want to thank you for that. I know there’s been a lot of confusion about teleworking and all that kind of stuff. You have jobs that can’t telework, and we know that.”

Tune in tomorrow for more on the Ag Secretary’s gratitude for those who work supplying America’s food, now more than ever.
