Here's something new for Dairy Farmers... "The Diary Together Program" is exploring supply management in the dairy industry.

Sarah Lloyd is a family dairy farmer and says the programs is for dairy farmers to ponder what may work when it comes to supply management options.

“We’re coming together as dairy farmers in Wisconsin and across the nation to find some real solutions for sane pricing policy that will actually support our farmers and our communities and talk with farmers about how we can move forward in balancing the supply with the demand so that farmers get a fair price.”

Lloyd says one thing is certain, dairy farmers need something...

“And we shouldn’t have to have a thing where we just try to race to the bottom. Let’s try to rise to the top together. Let’s figure this out so that our farmers and our communities can thrive. We need to deal with the trade issues. We need to make sure that the farmers have a say in whatever plan gets implemented, that they are continually there at the table as it’s governed and moved forward.”

She says the Diary Together Program is a collaboration with a wide set of organizations, so they expect it will take time to find the perfect policy
