Ice fishing in Missoula

I ran into Jennaya Peterson at my favorite watering hole in Missoula, Montana and asked her what she had been doing that day. We went ice fishing. I only caught two rainbows and one Brown. My friend caught a brown and a broke and that was it. So it was kind of slow but one of the fish we caught was big. I grew up with fishing in general and certainly love ice fishing. I don’t have any brothers and and I am one of three girls so my dad has always been hunting and fishing and, not having any boys, getting kind of pawned his different tomboy activities off on my sisters and me. I do have a kind of fishing. I have a couple of girlfriends who are interested in fishing too. The girl I went with over the weekend has a similar upbringing to me. She is also one of three girls. We went up to Big Sky Lake which is 15 minutes out of Missoula. It’s just a small mountain lake. We used an power auger that my friend Kelly owns. It’s kind of funny to watch us use it because neither one of us can start it on our own. One of us has to hold it for the other one and she will start it. We drilled 45 holes, bounced around and drank some beers and had a mellow Saturday afternoon.
