How Suppressors can Change Hunting.

Rick Carlson, of Etymotic: “Etymotic’s safety line of earplugs and earphones reduce the risk of noise-induced hearing loss and tinnitus. But according to a company called Silent Legion, noise suppressors may mean you don't need earplugs. They say the benefits of shooting suppressors are being realized by the general shooting public. In most cases, suppressors are being adopted for the sound and recoil reduction benefits. The surrounding communities also benefit when shooting ranges and shooters are operating under a significant sound reduction.

Deer hunters also stand to benefit from shooting suppressed. How many hunters carry and use hearing protection in the field? When a buck steps into a clearing and every second counts, hearing protection is the last thing we remember. Shooting suppressed reduces the sound significantly, helping to protect permanent hearing damage.

Hunters also stand to improve accuracy while shooting suppressed. The reduced recoil helps to stabilize the firearm. The reflex flinch, even when minimal, can throw off a shot. Removing this element can seriously improve shot placement.
