Jeff Baxter is product manager for Bayer Crop Science’s Horticulture Business. They're the new sponsor for the program. “We're really excited about this opportunity to be able to sponsor the Almond Leadership Program. For us it really means a lot because Rob Kiss, a Bayer Crop Science Field Representative, just got the Almond Achievement Award and he was instrumental in starting the development of this particular program for the almond industry,” said Baxter.

“You know, each year they have about 20 participants in that program from all different facets of the industry. And it's really a great opportunity for these young people to understand every element of the almond production as well as processing and marketing. And then that opportunity then allows them have that foundation to be a future contributor on a lot of these different committees for the almond board.

Leadership often takes a commitment. ”They basically have something every month starting in January through the December Almond Industry Convention So they've got to be committed to be able to work that into their schedule, whether, they have a job currently in the industry supporting the almond industry, but the other aspect of that too is that they have special projects to contribute back to the industry as part of their participation in this class.
