Yesterday Jarrod Secondo was sitting above a herd of elk as they were moving away from him down the mountain, when all of a sudden, they turned around and headed back toward him. We pick things up from there. “So I just automatically assume that they got into that wolf sign that I had seen when I was hiking up and they had realized that there was some wolves tracking them. So they all come marching back up mountains. I've figured at this point they're all spooked and I’m going to take the first legal animal I see. At two hundred and fifty yards the spike came out. So I shot him. Took two shots free standing at two hundred fifty yards. He dropped on the second shot. With how much activity there was and how spooked the animals were I was just happy to get it done. Second to last day of the season and then put the meat in the freezer you know and that also turned out to be a really good eating animal as well.

Do you ever eat anything other than wild game? I mean you know if I go eat out with my parents or with everybody after hockey I’ll order some chicken or a hamburger or whatever you know but typically I don't buy any raw meat from the store. If I cooked anything at home it's just wild game. Are you an accomplished chef? No I'm learning. I thought I was an alright cook until I started trying to cook some of this wild game and some of the roasts and things and you know it's a little more finicky than just cooking a pot roast or something like that.
