California was well represented during a recent agricultural trade mission to Mexico.

Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue led the delegation.

“I thought we had a very successful trade mission down there. We achieved our goal of generating new export opportunities for our collaborators and cooperators.

Representatives from the Almond Board of California and Blue Diamond Growers, made the trip to meet with trade partners as Secretary Perdue held meetings with Mexican officials including Mexico’s Agriculture Secretary, Víctor Manuel Villalobos.

Members of the California Prune Growers Marketing Association were also part of the delegation, as were members of TRC Group, Incorporated Roseville.

The grower and producer groups are on record as being anxious for the United States Mexico Canada Trade Agreement to be ratified.

Perdue says he invited Secretary Villalobos to the 2020 Ag Outlook Forum and he says his counterpart excepted. This would be the 2nd USDA Ag Outlook Forum the Mexican Ag Secretary will participate in. He was part of a North American Ag panel at the forum this year.
