Panga fishing

Brian Oakland, an outfitter who runs a business called gotfishing.com takes angler clients to Ascension Bay in Mexico which is world famous for catching the grand slam of saltwater fishthat would be permit, Bone fish, snook and tarpon. He says the place is just legendary. As he talked to me about it, I had a question. “So are you fly fishing. We are fly fishing. Yeah. Off the front of what's called a panga. You stand in the front of this thing and cast out and the wind, the waves. You got your guide yelling at you, 20 yards 20 yards at eleven o'clock and it's so intense that even the most seasoned casters don't know what to do. Tell me about that, is it panga? Is that a flat boat. It's not a flat boat it's got a hull to it but it's got a flat casting deck off the front of it that you stand with your guide and basically again kind of a casting platform that moves up and down because of the waves and is about three feet wide and four feet long so it's not exactly the most comfortable place to be casting from but ideal situation for spotting and stocking the fish and then seeing if you can cast in actually catch them.The permits are King I guess. The permits are king. Yes. By the way the panga is very common throughout much of the developing world.
