Kinship in the wilderness. Of all the hunters I have known, a common refrain amongst so many of them is that the hunt is just a bonus and the fact that you are out in the wilderness with friends and family is the key. It is an opportunity to bond like no other. I know that members of the Sportsmans Spotlight team, Kelly and son, Tommy Allen have done a lot of hunting together and this next story brings a father and son team out west for the first time of their lives and they are going after the elusive antelope. Here's editor in chief of Field& Stream, Colin Kearns. “Tag team is a great story, and the issue would actually might be my favorite story in this issue. A father, son and pro-con that he and a son took last fall and my only. And they're both from North Carolina. And so they've done a lot of duck hunting down there and they've done a lot of whitetail hunting to find the two of them have ever made a western big-game hunt together and his sons in college now. And what's really neat about this story is that this was one of the first times where they were that the son really came into his own. And it was, you know, the father helping the son out was in many cases the son helping his dad out. His son was the first one to tag out. And he really led the way and helped his dad hunches, talk to. And it's just a really lovely story about a father and son enjoying some time outside together. Reminds you of why we do. That's why we spend so much time outside. And you know just how special it can be to share the outdoors with someone close to you.”
