Agritourism at Twin Oaks Farm
With the farm and ranch report, I'm Rick Worthington. We continue to keep an eye on agro tourism as farmers across the West look to supplement income by offering the public a chance to come out to the farm or ranch and spend a few bucks along the way. The Twin Oaks Farm in Eagle, Idaho, is using agro tourism for some Halloween based, family friendly fun. The income generated goes toward supplementing the revenue generated from farming in an effort to keep that land from being turned into another subdivision.
Jim RyanBogg is the owner of Twin Oaks, where one of the very few active farms still in this area altogether. Parents are just ecstatic. They're kids. If anything, they leave here crying because they don't want to leave the primarily the bunny rabbits.
And Melissa BIanche is the mother of two young girls who recently told KRIV-TV she'd never taken them to a farm before.
Oh, yeah, yeah. You feel like you're like out of like the city and away from everybody or actually feel like you're on a real farm out here. This place is magical. The kids have so much fun. The horse rides the maze. We did. We fed the goat and then my daughters won't leave the bunny hill.
Today, November 1st is actually the last day of the Halloween land operation, but they're closing it out with a big apocalyptic zombie experience tonight. Twin Oaks also hosts a tubing hill around Christmas time.
