Eat a full complement of fruits and vegetables in an effort to maintain your health, or as the old cliché goes an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Now all of that is fine and good if apples and other fruits are available. As it turns out, Some of our favorite fall tree fruits reported a rise in production this growing season, per USDA's latest outlook.

Increased production year over year for most full time tree fruits. That's according to USDA’s latest outlook on these crops. USDA research economist Agnes Perez starts the breakdown with apples.

Apple production is going to up 4 percent from a year ago, and this is driven by production increases that are expected from Western states, largely Washington and California.

While production of apples palm fruit, cousin, pears is expected to remain unchanged year over year due to increased production in California and Oregon. Meanwhile, regarding U.S. peach production for 2019-20, the forecast is for a 13 percent increase behind production rises in most major peach growing states.
