I'm Susan Allen with the farm and ranch report the animal Agricultural Alliance is a national ag industry United nonprofit organization that works passionately to bridge the communication gap between farm and fork. I spoke to their communications manager Casey Kindler about their upcoming summit May 8th the 9th in Kansas City that focuses on sustainability throughout the many segments of the cattle industry and Casey shared the agenda

Casey Kindler: the Animal Agriculture Alliance 20 19 stakeholder summit themed a seat at the table we'll feature a panel titled From birth to Burger industry led beef supply chain animal welfare and sustainability efforts.

Panelists include Kristin Hartman of Livestock Marketing Association Debbie Lyons flight of Blythe Angus and Justin Nelson of Tyson Foods on the panel. The industry leaders will tackle questions about sustainability in the beef industry supply chain including how do all the stops along the chain worked together on industry focused animal welfare and sustainability efforts. How are the beef quality assurance and the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef efforts perceived by Packers at retailers looking to add accountability in their supply chain and can we make some of these topics pretty competitive oral brands insist on their own programs to differentiate.

Susan: Wow excellent topics. Good food for thought.

Casey Kindler: Now how about registration discounted registration rates to the annual summit are available through April 1st to view the agenda and register. Visit summit dot animal ag alliance dot org.
