Catching up with Ted

 You may remember the owner of Raptor Archery in Hood River, OR, Ted Fry who features traditional or primitive bow hunting. Ted knows just how to prepare for the hunt... particularly if it is primitive or traditional archery. Do primitive hunters repair exactly the same as compound bow people? Well sort of. They have to have the same concept and the same basic principles but the primitive goddess or the traditional guys have a lot more work to do, like we have to sharpen our broadheads, you buy them in a package and they are not pre-sharpened like the modern archery stuff, so you have to file them and stone them and get them sharp and all of the preparedness is you doing that but that is what I tell people is that is what makes it more important when you are successful is the preparation that you put into it, then that reward comes back  to you because you did more rather than having somebody else do it for you.

So I thought of Ted the other day and called just to catch up. "Are you still the traditionalist with a long bow? Yup. Slowing down a little bit and spending a lot more time hunting. You might as well live life instead of dreaming about it.
