Kurcera: “Soils are the most biologically diverse system on earth and are home to over a quarter of all living species on earth. We sometimes refer to them as the below ground livestock. Its this below the ground life that the above the ground life really depends on the life below the ground and trying to support them. In the same thing that all living things need shelter, water and nutrients. If we can provide that with these management practices, we can help facilities or encourage a more productive above the ground system.”
In addition to Moore Kurcera there will also be three regional soil health specialists to assist farmers in developing soil health systems for their specific and geographic needs.
Kurcera: “So we can help develop these management plans for them that are scaled to the farm or to the ranch and to work with their specific needs. There is a variety of ways that we can achieve those goals but overall we are here to work with land managers.”
