Wounded Warriors

Old friend of the show, Dave Holbrook, as a fabulous program that he is directing out of Arizona for wounded veterans. "I have been a member of the Arizona Elk Society for many years and I have donated hunts to them at their live auction banquet and it ties in with my Wounded Warrior program. I approached the board of directors last July about starting our own Wounded Warrior program here in Arizona. They jumped on that and now I'm certified through Arizona Game and Fish to transfer tags from you the hunter to a warrior that I pick. I am the program director and last year I had 37 tags donated in order to get warriors out into the field on hunting trips. So a hunter draws a tag and decides to honor one of our wounded veterans. He donates the tag to you and you pass along to a veteran of your choice. Is that correct? Yes. That is exactly what I do. I have had tags donated to me from Montana, Wisconsin, Minnesota, California that hunters drew here in the state of Arizona and could not make the trip for one reason or another. They called me, I got their tags and I picked the Wounded Warriors here in the state of Arizona to do these trips." arizonaelksociety.org
