Potato Inspiration Abounds at Annual USPB Sponsored Potato Seminar

For the past 11 years, the United States Potato Board’s Culinary Institute of America Menu Innovations with Potatoes Seminar is a world class event that provides chef training that creates fantastic results in potato inspiration. This year’s event featured 13 chefs from leading US restaurant chains including Longhorn Steakhouse, Hard Rock, UCLA, etc. and four international chefs from the Philippines, Mexico, Korea and Malaysia. USPB Global Food Service Marketing Manager Susan Weller shares more
Weller: “Really the goal is to try to directly engage with chefs from high volume food services operations and commercial operations and food service and try to drive new use for fresh, frozen and deny potatoes on their menus. It has been successful in the past. We had many launches last year. We had 63 percent of the participants either test or add products to their menu. I’m certain that this year we will see the chefs testing and adding products to their menu because they were very, very excited about the products. In fact I’ve even made some connections with chefs and provided samples delivered to them so they could start testing.”
