Chip Stock Meeting To Happen At Potato Expo

If you are attending the 2016 Potato Expo in Las Vegas in January and are a chip grower, be sure you plan to attend the United States Potato Board Chip Committee Meeting. USPB Director of Research Ryan Krabill shares the details
Krabill: “The Chip meeting is going to be at the Mirage with the rest of the Potato Expo and the room is in the Antiqua A. It will be on January 12th at noon until 5 p.m.”
Krabill encourages Chip growers to attend this meeting.
Krabill: “This is an incredibly successful important program to what they do. It addresses a lot of the challenges at they have face in the sector — be it storage issues or alchrymide or what have you. At the end of the day, it is their money that they have paid through their assessments to the board. We always certainly want to be good stewards of the growers’ money and we encourage them to be a active part of that process. That is why it is important that they get there.”
This committee guides the activities of the USPB pertaining to the development and pursuit of alternate uses of chipping potatoes, breeding and variety research, the National Chip Processor Trials and obtaining funding from chip processors to provide sufficiently for these trials.
