Kulm Chosen as One of Wheat Ambassadors

At the recent Tri-State Grain Growers Convention Lind High school senior Taylor Kulm was selected as one of the two Washington Wheat Ambassadors. She maintains a strong GPA while being active in numbers 4-H and FFA activities as she explains

Kulm: "I'm currently involved in FFA. I do many CDEs mostly in steers and cattle production. I've done agronomy — I went to nationals this in agronomy and my team placed 12th overall. I've marketing, soils — I've done a lot of the SAEs in FFA.

When asked what she is looking forward to representing the wheat growers as one of the Wheat Ambassadors.

Kulm: "I was brought up on a dryland wheat farm. My dad wheat farms. I drive combine and I've always been really involved in the farm. I want to go to college and study agriculture technology and production management and try to figure out a way to more efficiently harvest wheat. I think it is really interesting on how the protein is affected and I want to figure out take care of issues like this."

She plans on attending Washington State University next fall. Kulm adds what she is looking forward to in her new role.
