AirMap Provides Software and App for Low-Altitude Air Navigation
Marcus: “AirMap delivers air space information to all users of low altitude airspace. Some of those are drones, some of those are helicopters, some are crop dusters and other aircrafts that fly at low altitudes. We’re not just an app -- we are actually a data provider that goes into a lot of apps and flight control systems in drones that allows people to have a very easy understanding of what is happening in the airspace in real time. So a crop duster can easily see that there is a drone operating in an adjourning field and vice versa. So at our website, www.airmap.io there is a link in the upper right hand corner that gives you access to the airspace map for free. It is in Beta — so it isn’t perfect but at least it is a great starting point. But more importantly we are starting to become incorporated into apps that many drone operators are using.
Marcus says his company’s goal is to assist the drone industry with the needed airspace map information so that it can co-exist with the existing aviation infrastructure in a safe way.
