Conservation Client Gateway Provides Farmers With New Online Tools

Conservation Client Gateway is a USDA public website that allows individual landowners and land users the secure ability to request conservation technical and financial assistance from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service.
NRCS Customer Service Toolkit Specialist Kirt Peterson says this new website will save farmers time.
Peterson: “It depends on where you located, but there are some people who are several hours away and it might be a time sensitive thing and they want to make sure they get their signature done — be it for taxes, or program deadline or whatever the situation is. Now they can just log in to this website — look at those documents, sign them, contact us if there is questions, email directly through it to us. Everything is efficient because it is all in the same document system. So we can see it right away, they don’t have to email it separately. Their signatures submitted through Client Gateway we can treat as live signatures so it can save a ton of time.”
He continues with the features available on the website.
Peterson: “People can use Conservation Gateway to look at their plans, they can look at their land, they can look at specific contracts. They can request assistance — either financial or technical. All through the same website.”
At this point the new website is in phase one — so just available now for individual land owners to use. In the future, entities will be able to use it and there is an smart phone app in the works as well.
