Up Day Across the Grain and Cattle Markets on Friday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for May 11, 2015.
Friday was a positive day for all of our reported commodities. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders shares the weekly cattle market update.
Sanders: “This week in the northwest on feeder cattle, we had 2,400 head trade. Compared to last Friday, feeder cattle were steady to firm. Trade slow to moderate. With more activity noted this week on contracting calves for fall delivery. Feeder steers medium to large frame #1s and #2s, for future delivery for FOB price 600 to 700 pounds $237.50 to $240 for October through December delivery in Idaho, Washington and Oregon. Six hundred value-added calves sold at $260 for November through December delivery in Washington.”
Chicago July Wheat ended Friday 8 and 3/4 cents at 4-81 and 1/2. July corn ended the day up 1 and 1/2 cents at 3-63.
Portland prices for soft white wheat and white club wheat of ordinary protein were steady to up 8 and 3/4 cents at mostly 5-97 and 1/2. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were up 11 and 3/4 cents at mostly 6-10 and 1/2. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were up 10 and 1/2 cents at mostly 7-40.
June live cattle were up $2.12 and a half on Friday at 151.50. August Feeder cattle were up 82 and half cents at 217.62 and half. June class III milk was up up 36 cents at 17-36.
