Higher Wheat and Lower Corn on Thursday

Higher Wheat and Lower Corn on Thursday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for March 13, 2015.
We had a marginally lower trade in corn market and higher trade in the wheat markets. From the floor of the CME Group, Joe Vaclavik shares
Vaclavik: “Grain markets here in Chicago were mixed on Thursday. We will start off with the corn market and it has been boring affair as of late. The wheat market is a different deal here. I think we’ve got two big forces that are kind of pushing and pulling at this thing. The negative side of the wheat market is the effects of the currency markets and the big moves that we have seen there lately. The collapse in the value of the Euro and the big surge in value the U.S. dollar are seen as negative. A friendly thing about the wheat market would be the weather conditions in the U.S. — we’ve got very very extreme drought conditions over portions of North Texas, into Oklahoma and into Kansas.”
