Muzzle Loader Postscript

Muzzle Loader Postscript

The saga continues on the stolen muzzle loader. You may remember that last month I reported on an email I received from Eileen Perkins regarding a treasured, historically significant muzzleloader that her son Luke had used in a successful deer hunt only to have it stolen from their Deer Park, WA home. I did a story on it in order to get the word out. This just in. An email from Eileen's husband and Luke's father. I am not sure how much background Eileen provided for the "Lost Muzzle Loader" story.  I do know that conversation between Luke and a Pretty Biology Major about his Baker, and its subsequent use in obtaining a "field specimen" for her, led to a charming courtship and to Megan becoming his Bride.  With their marriage, the Perkins Family gained the first of three wonderful Daughters.  One could say that Luke's Pattern 1800 Infantry Rifle generated "good hunting" all around :-)

Having heard "Spotlight" often, I know you reach thousands upon thousands of listeners.   Luke's flintlock has huge sentimental value to everyone in our Family.  Your kindness in helping our Son and Daughter spread the story of its loss lies beyond my ability to appreciate in words.  Still, inadequate though words may be, I say: Thank You!  You, sir, are welcome by my fire, anytime...

Wishing you Good Hunting always, I remain,

YMHS,

Larry Perkins

Well thank you Larry. It's no secret that the hunting and fishing community is a big family. I appreciate you listening and will stop by your fire someday soon.
