Wheat Prices Lower on Friday

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for November 3, 2014.
Wheat futures were lower while corn futures ended a bit higher on Friday. USDA Grain and Livestock Reporter Greg Sanders provides an update from last week’s regional cattle market.
Sanders: “Northwest direct cattle we had a little over 3,600 head trade compared to last week. Feeder cattle were steady to firm. 500 to 550 weight steers in Washington and Idaho sold for $261 to $270 current FOB delivery. 850 to 900 pound steers delivered into Idaho for December-January brought $226 to $227. Feeder heifers medium to large frame number 1s 500 pounds in Washington and Idaho brought $251 to $255 for current FOB.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Friday down 3 and 1/2 cents at 5-32 and 1/2. December corn ended the day up 2 and 3/4 cents at 3-76 and 3/4.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were down 3 and 1/2 cents at mostly 6-86 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were down 3 and 1/2 cents at mostly 9-32 and 3/4. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices were down 8 and 1/4 cents at mostly 7-46 and 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down 3 and 1/2 cents at mostly 9-19 and 1/4.
December live cattle were down $1.27 and half on Friday at 166-05. January Feeder cattle were unchanged at 228-47 and half. December class III milk was down 29 cents at 18-99.
