Two of Wheat Markets Up Slightly

I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for October 13, 2014.
Chicago and Kansas City Wheat markets ended the day higher on Friday. USDA Grain and Livestock Market Reporter Greg Sanders shares last week’s cattle markets for the region.
Sanders: “Northwest direct cattle receipts were 5600 head this week compared to last week. Feeder cattle were steady to firm. Trade moderate with good demand. For current delivery, 700 to 750 pound steers sold from $235 to $255. 900 pound steers for current delivery FOB at $218. Feeder heifers for current delivery FOB 700 pounds sold from $228-$245. And 800 to 850 pound heifers sold at $212.”
Chicago December Wheat ended Friday up 5 and 1/4 cents at 4-98 and 1/2. December corn ended the day down 10 and 3/4 cents at 3-34.
Portland prices for soft white wheat were up 2 and 1/4 to 5 and 1/4 cents at mostly 6-63 and 1/2. White club wheat prices were up 5 and 1/4 cents at mostly 9-11. Hard Red Winter wheat with 11.5 percent protein prices up a nickel at mostly 7-31 and 3/4. DNS wheat with 14 percent protein prices were down a 1/4 of a cent to 5 and 1/4 cents at mostly 8-96 and 1/4.
December live cattle were down 57 and half cents on Friday at 165-30. November Feeder cattle were down $2.32 and half at 239-20. November class III milk was up a penny at 21-88.
