Meat department on 16th and State, this is Lee, how can I help you? Tell me about some of your great steaks. We have the prime bone in rib eye and the prime boneless rib eye. What are the prices? $17.99 four bone in and $19.99 for boneless, prime rib eye. Is that per pound? Yes. Okay, if you're like me and you're looking for a delicious steak, upon hearing that or seeing it at your local grocery store you might get a little bit of sticker shock. I called up good friend Tommy Allen who is an avid hunter and put a question to him. "I am going to ask you to speculate. With the price of beef at an all time high, do you think that there's going to be a lot more people headed for the woods this year? That's a great question David. My buddies and I have sat around talking about that very issue. It's a different game this year. We all used to buy a quarter of beef but with these prices, were going to be doing the same thing. Were going to go out there and try and get a deer down or an elk down and put the meat in the freezer. That's a concern we have, how many other people are going to be doing that? The game has changed. Beef is extremely expensive whereas a deer tag is around $40. So that's a pretty cheap investment to get some deer meat.
