USPB CEO Shares His Impression of Industry

The United States Potato Board President/CEO Blair Richardson is nearing his first year anniversary with the organization. During the past year, Richardson has spent a considerable amount of time on the road in the past 11 months meeting industry members. He shares of his first year
Richardson: “Well for me, this has been a great experience. The industry has been very welcoming to me and certainly allowed me the opportunity to kind of learn and familiarize myself with the industry and the issues at a rapid rate. So it has been one of the better experiences I’ve had in my career. I certainly appreciate it. It has been a great year and I look forward to many more years.”
Richardson shares his impression of the potato industry.
Richardson:”While I think there are a lot of differences in the industry — regional differences, sector differences — that generally speaking the industry gets along really well. When there are big issues like Mexico or other issues that we are able to talk them out and come to conclusions that generally work for the majority of the industry. That is a refreshing thing to see.”
