Spring Ahead Season for USPB's Marketing and Advertising

Regardless of weather outside cooperating or not — it is indeed springtime. The United States Potato Board has integrated all of their current domestic marketing — their social media, advertising and public relations all under the theme of Spring Ahead.
Meredith Myers, USPB Public Relations Manager, shares more about a recent new Hungry Girl recipe — featuring colorful and nutritious potatoes.
Myers: “In consumer PR we continue to work with Hungry Girl. We’ve asked her to develop a very springy recipe and that has come in the form of Potato-zanella — that is a potato Panzanella dish. A traditional Panzanella is a very bright and vibrate vegetable dish with bread in it. Instead of bread, we are using fingerling potatoes — and colorful fingerling potatoes. Of course that Potato-zanella recipe can be found in our recipe database on potatogoodness.com.”
Additional marketing efforts include print advertising in several popular women’s magazines as well as a Food network e-newsletter featuring a fabulous spring breakfast potato recipe. Myers shares
Myers: “We saw a huge spike in website traffic usually we’ve been averaging around 3,200 visitors a day and on that day we saw a 5500. We know absolutely that we can attribute that to the Food Network e-newsletter.”
