A story to make your blood boil.

I received a press release fromThe Idaho Department of Fish & Game showing a picture of a supposed hunter with his hands on the rack of an absolutely spectacular bull elk that was taken during the fall hunting season in Unit 65 of the Teton Elk Zone. Go to our website aginfo.net and help us catch this guy because it sounds as though this magnificent animal was poached. I called Senior Conservation Officer Rob Howe: "There are some red flags concerning the taking of this bull that raised our suspicions. We started an investigation. We are not at a dead-end but we are at the point where we feel people are out there who can confirm our suspicions. We are asking for their help. Clearly it is a large trophy bull. We value all wildlife in Idaho but these trophy animals that we are able to manage for and provide opportunity to our a huge resource for Idaho. That is a once in a lifetime animal for people and adds great value to the state. Majestic, beautiful, but also harvesting an animal like that removes the DNA from the elk gene pool. That is right. This animal was killed during the legal hunting season. I don't want to give the specifics but there are some red flags that really concern us so now we are asking for the public's help. The reward is being offered by citizens against poaching.
