Kiss My Tractor

Kiss My Tractor

I’m always on the lookout for ag bloggers from the Pacific Northwest. Today we’ll be visiting with an Idaho Ag Blogger Alise Erickson who I met at the November Leadership Idaho Agriculture’s first seminar in Moscow. She is a current Class 34 member.

Erickson explains what she and her mother, Robin Wylie Lundquist, write about on their blog, Kiss My Tractor which they began last January.

Erickson: “We post something everyday. So since January we’ve published 175 posts -- so it’s probably about 3 or 4 posts a week. We find topics all over the place. Every month we do a farmer profile. So we interview a farmer, find out all about their operation, how they got started, what they grow. We ask for stories from their farming years. And then share that with our readers. Then we do a thought of the week. On every Tuesday we post a thought of the week about agriculture or what not. Then other posts we just pull from the news.”

Their blog address is kissmytractor.wordpress.com. I asked Erickson how they came up with the name of their blog.

Erickson: “We’re trying to come up with a name that would be definitely an agricultural name so that’s the tractor part -- but something not ag advocacy or ag education. We wanted something kicky and fun and something that if you lived in New York City and searched agricultural blogs you’d say,‘What’s that -- kick my tractor?’”

If you haven’t visited their blog, you should.
