USPB Calls for Board Member Nominations

USPB Calls for Board Member Nominations

The United States Potato Board announces nominations are now open for new Board Members for the 2014-2017 term.

All state potato organizations have received the information and materials to begin the process of seeking and nominating interested growers. The deadline for state nominations to be returned to USPB is August 1st.

UPSB Industry Communication Manager Alex Imhoff explains that there is a specific job description that producers need to commit to as board members. She says there are two very important aspects of this position.

Imhoff: "As a board member you are representing your state’s interest on the board. That is your number one job. So you are taking what your growers -- the people that nominated you to be on the board -- you are taking what they want and what they are saying back to us. The second important thing when you come to our meetings and you are participating, you have to rely all that information back to your state, back to all those growers. You need to let them what USPB programs are about and what our efforts are and how the United States Potato Board is maximize the return on their investment.”

That’s the U.S. Potato Update brought to you by the United States Potato Board, maximizing return on grower investment. ?
