Wheat Market Up Friday
I’m KayDee Gilkey with the Market Line Report for Feb. 18, 2013. ?
KC and Chicago wheat traded higher on Friday after Thursday's impressive export data and thoughts that demand is beginning to pick up for the US. Unless there's some bullish demand news or corn and soybeans rally sharply, the upside this week is limited to short-covering in the wheat market. From the floor of the CME Group, Scott Shellady shares his observations of Friday’s markets.
Shellady: “Up across the board -- up corn, wheat and beans here in Chicago and it looks as though we’ve kinda of put in a bottom -- a short-term bottom -- for a lot of these commodities that have been ticking lower day in and day out because of the general malaise and no decent bullish news. That is really what we have been seeing and I think that is going to be now the case as where we really don’t have anything to talk about except -- Hey, it is still really dry.”
