Northwest Ag Co-Ops 10th Annual Meeting Next Week

For those farmers and ranchers who sit on local, state or regional ag cooperative boards, next week is the 10th annual Joint Cooperative Councils Meetings and Educational Seminar for ag cooperatives from Oregon, Idaho, Montana and Washington.

The meeting will be held in Portland next Tuesday and Wednesday and is a great opportunity to learn as well as network with other cooperative representatives.

John McCulley Executive Secretary of the Agricultural Cooperative Council of Oregon shares more about who will gain by attending this event.

McCulley: “We think the people who would benefit the most, would be board members on local cooperatives, as well as management in those co-ops. Most of the audience will be made up of cooperative directors. Then we will have cooperative CEOs and cooperative Chief Financial Officers would be the other target audience because we devote a significant part of the program to accounting and financial issues.”

McCulley says that the keynote speaker will be the CEO of CHS and Oregon Native Carl Casale speaking on how cooperatives can remain relevant in a rapidly changing world.
