4-10 SS Milo Creek

Tom Dean is a completely self-taught artist from Great Falls, Montana.  His custom one-of-a-kind wood carving sculptures have sold to outdoor art lovers across the United States and Canada.  Tom has taken his 40 year passion of fly fishing in Montana and has turned that into another passion of his; hand carving native trout, dragon fly’s, cattails/reeds, frogs, other fish species that he sells out of his Milo Creek Carvings Fine Art studio. Tom is a friend of the show and has helped us out several times with tips on flyfishing Montana’s rivers. I recently called him up to find out how things were going on the art front. “It’s going fantastic. We are coming off the Western Masters art show and sale in the C. M. Russell Museum. It was just a fabulous show. From January 5 until that Sunday before I worked every day trying to get as many pieces done as I could. I ended up getting 13 sculptures completed in that time which is a lot. I ended up selling 9 of those and then I sold a very, very large one which I am sending to Portland Oregon. So things are busy and I’m still keeping the train moving and just before you called, I received a letter from the Montana Arts Council stating that you are now inducted into the Montana Circle of American Masters.
