Annual WCA All Breed Bull Test now entirely under Cattlemen's management

Washington Ag Today October 28, 2010 This is the 18th year of the Washington Cattlemen’s Association’s All Breed Bull Test and the first year the WCA is doing all the management. Jack Field, Executive Vice President of the Cattlemen’s Association says Washington State University withdrew its involvement for budgetary and work load reasons.

Field: “We are going to have the test at Bonina‘s facility in Eltopia just north of Pasco. And this year‘s test right now we are going to have 138 bulls. We have 90 Angus, 8 Simmentals, 7 ChiAngus, 20 Herefords, seven Red Angus and 6 SimAngus bulls. I am quite certain we should have an excellent selection for breeders of all sizes and be able to cover just about anybody in terms of breed preference. I just hope that everybody saves the date of March 23rd, which will be a Wednesday afternoon, for the sale at Eltopia.”

Only the top bulls that have passed performance and quality requirements will be offered in the March sale. The bulls will be fed and cared for by Bob and Nina Lundgren during the test.
