Gabe Family Affair

Gabe Rodriguez reflecting back on his childhood memories of pheasant hunting which in his case, as it is true of so many other people, was a total family affair. And isn't that what hunting is all about... being with family and enjoying an activity together.

My mom, she has one sister and a couple of brothers. One brother in particular that was and still is today a fiend for hunting pheasants. And he's the youngest of the four siblings. And it was always the three of us. And then some of their friends and a couple of my cousins and my brother etc. etc. It was one of those things, it was a family outing and it was something that we did every year at least once a year. Something that I look forward to and still think about today. I don't have the fortune of doing it in recent years. My uncle is very busy with his business etc. So you know life gets in the way. We hunted with dogs and we hunted on foot. We tried, of course, waterways, wherever there's irrigation ditches etc. They would hang out there at certain times a year. When it came to the fall that November season of course those cornrows would drop seeds for the following year. Obviously that's the way plants work. So those pheasants would be out there fatter than basketballs.

I should have asked Gabe a follow up question. If the pheasant were as big as basketballs, did he use a 410?
