The Columbia-Snake River Irrigators Association has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. Board representative Darryll Olsen said the group wants movement on water service contracts for their efforts to replace declining aquifer water with water from the Columbia River.

OLSEN: In the case of the Odessa, we've been up there now four years. We've done detailed engineering and economic and financial review and we have submitted to the Bureau and to the district the water service contract request now almost a year sitting there'd we've made the request that those water service contracts be honored, that they move forward with them. The key here is that we've got private sector capital literally pent up, signature authority to start system one which should have been started a year go.

A lawsuit has been filed by a group of 10 eastern Idaho potato growers to end a quarantine and testing of fields after a microscopic pest was discovered. The discovery has led to the ban on Idaho potatoes by some countries. State and local officials imposted the quarantine and testing after the discovery of the pale cyst nematode back in 2006. The suit says that the government is illegally imposing regulations in Idaho through the USDA.
