Colorado Beef Council Dietician Promotes Beef in a Healthy Diet
"We are inundated as a society with diet and nutrition information on a daily basis, whether it be some sort of new diet or some sort of new trend eating pattern" said Schulz. "And what I want to be able to promote is the health benefits of lean red beef in a healthy, well-balanced eating pattern."
She says there's also beef checkoff funded research to showcase this.
"The BOLD Study, which is beef in an optimal lean diet, also the Mediterranean diet and how lean beef can fit into that" said Schulz. "So oftentimes, the Mediterranean diet or Mediterranean style eating pattern really focuses more on fish and poultry. Our new research showcases that lean beef can fit nicely into this eating pattern. In addition to fruits and vegetables and grains and even some wine in moderation, if someone so chooses."
