Growing Industrial Hemp Issues

Should Farmers consider growing industrial hemp? Farmers in Colorado and Oregon, and Washington have capitalized on it...

Some farmers think it's a great idea, but can't, because in many places (like Idaho for example) industrial hemp is not legal to grow...as far as Idaho is concerned, Hemp is Marijuana.

What about hemp that is THC free? I spoke to Monte Styles who is a former US Attorney about that and he says

"State law prohibits the use, possession or distribution of marijuana of any kind. Same as federal law."

Mark Frei is trying to change that...he's a farmer in Idaho and says industrial hemp can be used for a whole slew of products, and therefore the market for farmers would be very lucrative...

"It's got food, fiber, and medicinal value. Farmers are all for it."

But Hemp might soon be legal - as Idaho re-examines it's policies in January's upcoming legislative session.
