I’m Bob Larson. The group created to counter What’s Upstream’s anti-farming campaign is reacting after the state Public Disclosure Commission gives the group’s leader until October 17th to respond to improper funding allegations.

Save Family Farming director Gerald Baron isn’t too worried and expects to hear soon from the PDC and the Swinomish Tribes Larry Wasserman …

22 sec … “Certainly we’re eager to hear from the PDC in the hope that they will proceed with the appropriate actions here, but I also believe that there’s a lot of explaining to do so I think Mr. Wasserman should have the time that he needs to explains his actions, but also the role that EPA Director Dennis McLerran played in this as well as Strategies 360’s Marty Loesch.”

Six U.S. Representatives wrote last week to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, following up on comments she made in April …

24 sec … “When she was questioned about this, she basically gave the impression of their hand getting caught in the cookie jar. However, there’s a bit of problem with that in that in April of 2015, McCarthy was with the Swinomish Tribe. That is exactly the same time the environmental manager for the tribe was busy changing the website to make the whole campaign, to make it much more harsh and much more overtly political.”

The What’s Upstream website urges legislators to mandate 100-foot set-backs between farm fields and waterways and drainage ditches, something Baron says could doom many small farms.
