Since 1929, Farmer's national company out of Omaha Nebraska has been offering professional farm management and real estate sales and has expanded to include a complete range of agricultural services for landowners including resource management, appraisals, insurance and commodity marketing. Since agricultural land values are declining, I thought I would be well served to talk to company spokesperson Randy DeKout. "The basic fundamentals of income supporting land values is in play right now. With lower grain and livestock prices, the net income that the farmer or rancher is producing out of their operations, or a landowner or an investor, their income is a little bit less so you capitalize that into the value and it makes sense for land values to decline some. Farmer's National currently manages over 4800 farms in 24 states comprising over 2.1 million acres.
