Soil Fumigation Workshop

Soil Fumigation Workshop

Soil Fumigation Workshop. I'm Greg Martin with Washington Ag Today.

It's not too late to sign up for the 2015 Soil Fumigation Stewardship and Safety Update Program. Ryan Roslak with Dow Agro Sciences gives us the details.

ROSLAK: We've been doing these for the last 25 years and basically what they are is it gives us an opportunity to bring everybody together in the industry and the soil fumigation industry together prior to the start of the fall season and we review any label changes or regulatory changes that have taken place the last 12 months. Review the safety and stewardship that surrounds proper handling of soil fumigants.

A couple of sessions will be available for anyone interested. Moses Lake on Tuesday, July 28 at Big Bend Community College. The other session will be on Wednesday, July 29 at the Red Lion in Pasco.

ROSLAK: We'll touch on new data that was developed or anything interesting from a field perspective that users might benefit from. We'll invite the regulatory folks, the Washington State Department of Agriculture, US EPS or other regulatory agencies trying to just give more education on compliance. Just rules and regulations and how the grower and distribution network stay in compliance with different things. It's an annual thing. We've been doing this in July/August for at least the last 25 years.

Both programs will begin promptly at 8:00 AM and lunch will be provided. WSDA is presenting the program along with Dow Agro Sciences, Trinity Manufacturing.

And that's Washington Ag Today. I'm Greg Martin, thanks for listening on the Ag Information Network of the West.
