Legalizing Weed

Here is a direct quote from a recent article in the Idaho Statesman. A little over a year after Colorado and Washington legalized marijuana, more than half of the states, including some in the conservative South, are considering decriminalizing the drug or legalizing it for medical or recreational use and this has set up a watershed year in the battle over whether marijuana should be as acceptable as alcohol. This is not limited to whether you are liberal or conservative. As it turns out liberals in Oregon and Republicans in Alaska appear to agree on pot. I have no idea where all of the research comes from but I do know this. Over the last decade it has appeared to me that there is a dumbing down of America. It is very evident in schools, whether they be grade schools, middle schools, high schools or universities. I know something else. Christopher Yadron, is the director for recovery services with Rosecrance Treatment Center in Chicago. “I do have some information from a journal that says in Colorado currently, 74% of young people being treated for addiction reported that they received their marijuana from a medical marijuana card holder. So I would not say it is too early to tell because you already see the effects in that regard. There are tons of studies that show that marijuana has very harmful effects on the developing adolescent brain. As they begin to smoke marijuana, they oftentimes will begin to progress to other things as well.” I don’t care what adults do, but legalize marijuana and you will create massive problems with our children. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.
