Getting toms angry. It's been a while since I have talked with Senior Deputy Editor Colin Kearns of the magazine, Field & Stream, but I saw an article about angry birds and the question to the reader was, do you want to shoot a gobbler at five steps? Goodness gracious who wouldn’t so I called Colin for an explanation. "Angry birds, this is a turkey hunting story we have in the April issue and it's about a series of aggressive turkey hunting tactics. Want to shoot a gobbler at five steps? Forget sweet-talking your next Tom. Instead, get in his face, tick him off good and get ready for a fight. There’s a whole lot of violence in springtime for wild turkeys:These are tips that will teach you how to get a gobbler so angry that he has no choice but to come in within shooting range whether it's, if you have a decoy spread there, you're going to tick him off so badly that he is going to lose sight of any precaution and he's just going to come in thinking that he is going to beat you up but he's in store for something else. For example we have tips on how to change your turkey calling approach so rather than trying to sound like that sweet and who is trying to lure in a gobbler, we have some tips on how to yelp like a Jake or a gobbler. That will trick the gobbler into thinking that he has some rival males in the area. So they are interesting, aggressive tips like that that are a lot of fun.
