Good friend of the show and long time content provider Josh Mills called me with a great story regarding the Northwest Sportsmen's Club out of Spokane, Washington. For the last three years they have had a Track Chair giveaway and it goes to a disabled sportsman. The chair itself looks like a wheelchair, but without wheels. Here is spokesperson Jaime Belknap: "These chairs are designed to get into the deep wilderness. They are basically wheelchairs with snowmobile tracks on them." The people receiving them have been affected by some form of tragedy which has disabled them. "This year, one of the recipients was driving down the road and had a tree fall on his car and became a quadriplegic. And then the other recipient was asleep in her apartment at 2 AM when an intoxicated neighbor shot a gun and it went through her spine." So, for next year's contest. "We have the application on our website and we just let everyone know where to get the application and they basically just tell us how the chair would change their life and what it is that prevents them from getting outside."
