A chat with expert archery hunter, Dennis Dunn. "I was lucky enough to get drawn down in Arizona for an archery tag in a public lands unit for elk. A nonresident archery elk tag is worth a fortune now in Arizona which is one of the best elk states in the country. I managed on the seventh day of a 10 day hunt to shoot a 380 class bull with my recurve and that turned out to be a Boone and Crockett animal as well. I've written a book about my adventures and misadventures. It took me four years to write. I never knew I had the goal of taking what's known in the hunting world as the North American super slam of big game animals until six years before I got there. A buddy of mine from Colorado put it in my head that I had a chance to do something nobody has ever done before. Once he put that thought in my head I couldn't get it out. The book weighs 10 pounds. You don't want to drop it on your toe. It contains 104 stories of adventure and misadventure. It is all autobiographical and true spanning 40 years of my life and the book is illustrated by two of the best wildlife artists in the country. The books title...Bare Bow."
