All too often in life we think of epic situations or huge opportunities. There's kind of a mentality that bigger is better. Not so fast says Field and Stream editor-in-chief Colin Kearns. Sometimes it's the little things in life that can be equally thrilling.

The author ends his story with acute sentiment. Three shots, three squirrels, a two-hour romp in the woods, and I made my way back to the truck. The squirrels were warm and knotty-feeling against the small of my back. I stuck a hand in a pocket and fingered the bullets. I caught myself whistling.

Feel like a kid again?
