Fishing For Birds?

We've all seen those guys that are a little wild on the casting, sometimes they end up in the trees or the off shore bank. But here's one you might not have heard before.

"A lady by the name of Tiffany Maple she was the editor for, writer for Lake Powell Magazine. Put out a book on Lake Powell stories and Tiffany and I were fishing together in cedar canyon. I made a cast and had a blue heroin get entangled in my surface plug. The bird went for the sky and I held on... I actually reeled him in and finally managed to get him unhooked, and she was convinced that he was going to stab us all to death with his beak after I got him to the boat. I'm going, no I've got a $10 lure hooked into this bird and I need to get it back."

Tom "I thought I was the only one that could do that, knock a bird out of the air fishing with a fishing lure. One time I casted a Rapala and it was kind of a high cast and it ended up knocking a swallow right out of the air and it landed in the water. As I sat there and watched the swallow start to drown I felt real bad, so I ended up diving in and doing what anyone would do. I dove in swam out there and got it and held it above water and was able to revive it enough to where it was able to fly away."

Matt "Well, there's a first time for everything. Tom, the next time we go out duck hunting, you might want to leave the shotgun at home and bring the fishing pole."
