Day 2 Tuna

Yesterday we left off with Amy Spoon sitting on a charter boat with a bunch of women waiting for tuna to hit their lines. It was anticipation that Amy said was like sitting on a hillside and waiting for the deer to come out at first light. We pick up the story. "Finally one of the rods goes off and it was total chaos going on. But it is organized chaos. They kind of gave us a heads up on what would happen once the fish were starting to bite. It really was organized chaos of getting other rods out, throwing bait out and getting the tuna to start biting on the live bait. Before we knew it everybody on the boat was hooked up with fish. We are all fighting fish at the same time. I will tell you that these fish are fighters. Whether they are bigger or smaller, some of them are harder fighters than the others. I was fighting one fish for it seemed like 20 minutes and I was expecting it to be this giant when it came up but it was just the same size as another one that I had reeled in very quickly. Once they're on deck, the boat is filled up completely. The deck is super slippery with blood, everybody's having a great time cheering. It was an addictive experience. It is one of those things that you do for the first time and you can't wait to do it again. It was honestly better than I thought and something that I think should be on everybody's bucket list. The boat I went on was Capt. Cary Alan with Offshore Northwest Charters.
